The first Māori and Pasifika Leadership Summit was held in Mount Maunganui late in March 2026.
JNP Aviation joined as a supporter.
The inaugural summit welcomes nearly 200 participants to Bay Oval and provided a dedicated space for connection, collaboration and sharing knowledge grounded in Māori and Pasifika values. Key themes included strengthening pathways for Māori and Pasifika in business and governance, building sustainable economic opportunitites, and elevating culturally grounded approaches to leadership.
A central focus of the summit was the empowerment of rangatahi and the cultivation of future leaders who are confident in their cultural identity and capable of leading across sectors. This is something close to our hearts, and inherent in the JNP values.
Discussions also explored how organisations and communities can continue to strengthen Māori and Pasifika leadership through meaningful partnerships and inclusive practices - an approach that closely reflects the work we are continuing to build on.
Josh reflected that the event was an exciting opportunity for business leaders to network and support the Māori and Pasifika community.
