JNP Training aircraft moves between location at Classic Flyers and Tauranga Airport apron

Our Training ATR (ATR-72 500) was on the move again in December to the apron at Tauranga Airport (TRG).

This is the first time after 5 years that the decommissioned aircraft was back on an active apron, after JNP had handled its final flight from Rotorua airport. It is located outside of Fire Rescue and has served and will continue to serve for training purposes in the future. The move between this location and Classic Flyers is to support the expanding need of training opportunities for the wider Bay of Plenty community.

Classic Flyers and Rescue Fire supported the JNP team with the move of the ATR, as the aircraft needed a little extra horsepower.

JNP is using the aircraft to train and upskill staff and JNP Aviation Training is using it for their ākonga training. Additionally, the ATR has now become a shared training resource, for the wider community.
