Great turnout for the 2026 ‘Ride the Runway’ in Whakatāne.
240 participants joined Bike Whakatāne and Whakatāne District Council on a beautifully sunny day to watch an Air Chathams flight take off followed by an hour of riding, walking, running, skating, skateboarding and jogging action! A great event with many happy faces and great vibes out on the runway, a place where people don't usually get to spend time.
A small crew of JNP Aviation and JNP Aviation Training employees went over to support the event as Marshalls. JNP Kārearea Drones supported the event with drone footage.
