Introducing ADAPT (Aircraft Departure and Arrival Process Training), JNP’s new training feature at Tauranga Airport to complement the existing training and expose ground crew to uncommon scenarios, both with and without headsets.
Through ADAPT JNP safely trains new employees and refreshes current ones ensuring up to date training for arrival and departure procedures. The program allows employees to experience realistic procedures, while in the safety of our traingin room. The program can run through different emergency procedures to prepare for real life situations.
ADAPT has been designed for easy intuitive use, ensuring the trainer can focus on the training without having to spend much time with the system.
JNP’s trainers, who reviewed the program, have highlighted the added value the ADAPT program brings to the existing training procedures. They are confident to use ADAPT to train new staff members, as well as refresh existing employees on different uncommon scenarios. The program also allows to practice hand signals, a skill needed, but not easily trained during active operation.
ADAPT also features a VR component, where aircraft marshalling can be practised and assessed. This ensures training precise execution of marshalling for different scenarios in a safe and secure environment, while it allows trainees to visually be out on the apron.
